Seaflower, Alpine, Three Saints on Kodiak Island

IMG_5833 IMG_5834 Woody Knebel, the Plant superintendent for the past 25 years, is an artist!! During Woody's tenure, all sorts of creative artwork popped up in the most unexpected places: bas-relief figures of fish and bear paw prints on walls; metallic and wooden art; paintings and murals. Nice fish......maybe Chum or dog Salmon That might be a Sockeye salmon Nice size!! IMG_5884 IMG_5885 Got pretty shallow IMG_5889 John off in the high grass/tundra trying to find the deer trail.....talking very loud to the bears:)))) Woody told us we had a 50/50 chance of meeting a Brown (Grizzly) bear...gulp!!! IMG_1016 I'm not sure what this is and have sent the picture to Woody......is that a drawing of a hunter?? The big rock on the right is where the drawings were located. I spent about 30 min viewing and talking loudly to the bears!! Lots of wild flowers IMG_1022 Oh hi Mr Deer, good to see you alive again.....seen any bears??? John out talking with the crabber.....he had a cabin in the bay and stayed the night!! IMG_1052 IMG_1056 We had 12 Kodiak Brown bear sightings in the Bay....albeit from a distance!!
