Kenya Maasai Mara and Nairobi NP Days 5-11 (gallery 2)

Two male lions.....a woman on our safari spooked them when she went too far from the truck on a walk after lunch!!! They've calmed down now. Paul surmised they were two males patrolling their territory!! IMG_4949 So well camouflaged!! Nice picture...lions and giraffes silhouetted against the sky!! IMG_4966-2 The other giraffes looking at the two male lions Hmmm.....some herds gathering near the river....our hopes increase for a river crossing later!1 Warthog on the move Hmmm...white hair on top???? IMG_5112 IMG_5857 IMG_5858 We had left the herd by the river and came back to camp for a cocktail!!! But then we got a call around 6pm that the herd is getting ready to cross!!! IMG_5123 We know the truck in front....he is the one who called us back!!! IMG_5128 IMG_5131 One brave  wildebeest is going down the cliff!! Oops, changed their mind....coming back up!! But wait, more going down the cliff!! IMG_5144 Within a minute of that last photo we have a herd crossing!! The sound is thunderous Wow!!!! IMG_5158-2 Some are jumping from the cliff!!! The poor thing was neighing in search for his lost mom!! IMG_5217 There is the big crocodile with the mom wildebeest in it's jaw still holding it underwater All is well and in for a good night's rest!! The end on a long day.....from Hot Air Balloon ride to a migration river crossing....wow!! Sunrise the next morning, the 16th The next morning and more herds close to the river....could we get another crossing?? IMG_5282 Oh no.....these balloons are heading right for the herds and flying too low IMG_5275 IMG_5289 IMG_5286 IMG_5290 These balloons spooked all the animals back away from the river....very poor guide behavior!!! IMG_5292 IMG_5296 We found some hyaenas just finishing a kill!! IMG_5302 Face still bloody, belly full....LIG!!!
