[hoops name=”break”]Well, we did it…..off at 1:30 am this morning….ugh!!!!! Conditions were pretty boisterous at the beginning. Very beamy seas; semi-rough ride…..ugh!!!!!
We did indeed go to the local cultural dinner/dance. It was a fundraiser to send the local soccer team to Brazil for a big tournament. So, lot’s of local food…..many starches – taro, breadfruit, plantains, rice, and beet potato salad…..plus several fish dishes, fruit and a cabbage salad……it was ok, certainly filled us up. The dancers were teenagers…..girls, then guys…..the guys were more in costume and more dramatic…..warriors to be!!!!

We never met but have Garland Hagen as an extraordinary friend in common. He is my neighbor in Vero beach as well. You were anchored behind me in Clarencetown , I have a Krogen 58 named Far Reaches.
We flew into Nuka Hiva in 2008 and really loved it. We have seen a bit of French Pol and it is our favorite. Unfortunately my wife got dengue their. Another high light for us is Bastille Day at any of the large islands. The music and dancing are fabulous.
We plan to fly to NZ and Australia this summer.
All the best…..Lawrence Reeve
