Hi All,
I just wanted to post that we are leaving for Port Vila Vanuatu on Saturday May 9 around 8:30am ish….that’s tomorrow for us!! I will be doing a Captain’s Blog so hopefully you can read along as we passage this 1150nm to Vanuatu. It will take us 6+ days @ 7.5 kts. There is some NW winds we want to avoid by going fast in the beginning so for the first 2 days we hope to average 8+ knots…..still not in Bad Bob’s range but we are trying:))))
The weather window is ok….certainly not as good as last year when we left for Fiji. There are some headwinds Tues-Thur but should be mostly in the 5-10kt range which should be fairly smooth for Mystic. But, there probably will be some 10-20G25 kts occasionally and that will remind us we are on a boat. And, there is a big swell all week, 9-15′ but long period and off the aft port quarter (SW)….the 15′ will definitely give Mystic a good roll….joy!!!!
We finally have almost everything done!!!! The delayed shipment from the USA had us working some very long hours for the past 2 weeks and at times we were thinking we need to do something easier. But, most
of the list got done and we are ready!!!
