We are a go to leave for Raroia Tuamotus tonight, Saturday night, 4/27/Sunday morning, 4/28….yeah!!!! We have been waiting for the weather to clear and it looks like a good weather window to leave tonight. It’s about 445 nm and it will take us around 60 hours at a speed of 7.4 kts. We should have 5-15 kts winds mainly out of the East and 2-4′ seas with a swell maybe up to 6′ out of the East-ESE. Our heading is 187 M so we will have pretty beamy seas, ugh, but they should be somewhat calm and will be calming the further south we go!!
We will leave around 1:00 am tonight….ugh!!!! We are going to attend a local cultural dinner/dance tonight with a few other boaters, Maestro and Iris. We hope to get in a few hours of sleep then start the passage.
We have really enjoyed our time in the Marquesas but it is time to leave. We had hoped to just stay here about 2.5 weeks but by having to wait for weather we will have been here 3+ weeks.
We’ll both send more later about our time in the Marquesas but need to go do a few errands/boat chores for now!!
Hope all is well!
