Not much to report today……just the way we like it on passage…..BORING!!!!!
The conditions are moderate….we are able to move around but need to hold onto something. We both read quite a bit!!!!
The conditions unexpectedly worsened overnight as a lot of squalls moved in!!! 20-230G35 kt winds – all behind us but caused the seas to get big again……..arghhhhhhh!!!
The highlight of the day was fishing….caught a 20-25 lb good size Mahi…..fought it for a good 10 minutes and given the sea conditions Kathy only slowed to 5 kts…..now that was FUN!!!!! Then for whatever reason, I butchered the first side filleting the fish and then had a perfect fillet on the second side!!!!
We have been able to check in on the SSB net with a relay help and then later in the day talk with Adam on s/v Bravo and Aaron on s/v Bella Star so we don’t feel too lonely out here. There are about 20 boats on the water all going to Suwarrow, Rarotonga or Samoa but no one is within VHF range….it sure is one big ocean!!!!
