3:00am 7/30:
Can you say Wahooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Yep, that’s right…caught a 50″ 30-lb Wahoo today……biggest one we have ever caught……what a beautiful fish and was it ever good to eat!!!!! I fought it for 10-15 minutes while Kathy only slowed to 5 kts…..I thought it was a tuna as it went deep but it eventually surfaced and we were excited it was a Wahoo. We have enough meat to feed the entire anchorage when we get in……sushi baby 🙂 ))))
We have 50 nm to go…..both of us are soooooo ready to be there. The wind has now shifted from the NE at 5-10 kts…..now that is more like it!!!! The seas are calming albeit still a bit choppy/confused but the water is becoming slightly glassy and with the moon light…..well, you get the picture and of course, I had to break out in song……moon river…….!!!!!
10:30 am 7/30:
We did it!!!!! Anchor down at 9:30 am…..yeah!!!!!
This place is absolutely gorgeous…..water is crystal clear but it looks like it is going to storm…..arghhhhhhh!!!!
All is well!!!! Now for that passage Bloody Mary……LIG!!!!!

Congrats on the fish….sounds cool. And nice to have your anchor down. Relax a bit!!!
Glad the bumpy ride is over. Enjoy the Cook Islands and your fresh Wahoo! LIG here as well. Survey and seatrial on Renegade in a couple of weeks. If all goes well, Tuscany awaits us in February! Not the Cooks, but not bad… Cheers! Deb, Bill and the mutts.
So you can sit out the stormy weather in a new port. Glad you arrived safely and hope you enjoyed the bloody mary(s). judy
