Monday May 5, Day 5:
Bula,
All is well and another pretty boring day. The main story today is the fickle weather. The NE winds came back. Since early morning the winds backed to NNE-ENE 8-14 kts and stayed in the quadrant for about 15 hours. E-ESE was predicted. This puts the wind and sea on our starboard bow. Seas stayed relatively calm….maybe 2-4′ swell 12+ sec from the ENE with a 1′ wind chop. An ok ride for us.
Around 7:00pm (22S 178E) the winds clocked to ENE-ESE still 8-14 kts and stayed like that until midnight when the winds clocked to ESE-SE and calmed to 5-9 kts. The seas are <3’…..a most enjoyable and comfortable ride!!!!
The stars tonight were beautiful…..not a cloud in the sky….the Southern Cross is blazing away and the Milky Way is brilliant…..yes, I did break out in song 🙂 )))
Kathy says the highlight of the night/day was seeing the cargo ship….hmmmm!!!
