Sunday May 4, Day 4:
Bula,
That’s hello in Fijian…..Kathy has us practicing 🙂 )))
All is well…but…it finally happened…..weather not exactly as predicted. We saw in the morning consistent ENE 10-15 kts winds and a 4-6′ E swell with a 1-2′ wind chop. Pretty beamy for us, but the countercurrent was gone and we picked up speed and the stabilizers handled the beamy seas, so still not a bad ride. We must be on top of the HI or seeing some effects from the Tasman LO. Our grib showed another fairly benign day with calm ESE winds….hmmmm????
In the afternoon the winds died to <5kts and gradually clocked to ESE with a 3-5′ swell. Overnight the winds built a little to around 8-14 kts ENE-ESE…..seas remained fairly calm.
We crossed the halfway mark….yeah!!!! Kathy wanted to celebrate but the Captain held firm……more Betty Ford days, dear 🙂 )))
I’m writing this on our 4th night. I’m feeling pretty tired/lethargic this am….bring on the coffee please!!!
Not much to report today…..just the way we like it…..very boring!!!
